چکیده

Recently, we have extended SDP by adding a quadratic term in the objective function and give a potential reduction algorithm using NT directions. This paper presents a predictor-corrector algorithm using both Dikin-type and Newton centering steps and studies properties of Dikin-type step. In this algorithm, when the condition K(XS) is less than a given number K0, we use Dikin-type step. Otherwise, Newton centering step is taken. In both cases, step-length is determined by line search. We show that at least a constant reduction in the potential function is guaranteed. Moreover the algorithm is proved to terminate in O(p n log(1==)) steps. In the end of this paper, we discuss how to compute search direction ((X; S) using the conjugate gradient method.

On Mehrotra-Type Predictor-Corrector Algorithms

In this paper we discuss the polynomiality of Mehrotra-type predictor-corrector algorithms. We consider a variant of the original prototype of the algorithm that has been widely used in several IPM based optimization packages, for which no complexity result is known to date. By an example we show that in this variant the usual Mehrotra-type adaptive choice of the parameter μ might force the alg...

An Enhanced Matrix-Free Secant Method via Predictor-Corrector Modified Line Search Strategies for Solving Systems of Nonlinear Equations

Diagonal updating scheme is among the cheapest Newton-like methods for solving system of nonlinear equations. Nevertheless, the method has some shortcomings. In this paper, we proposed an improved matrix-free secant updating scheme via line search strategies, by using the steps of backtracking in the Armijo-type line search as a step length predictor and Wolfe-Like condition as corrector. Our a...

User guide for QSDP-0 – a Matlab software package for convex quadratic semidefinite programming

This software is designed to solve a convex quadratic semidefinite programming (QSDP) problem, possibly with a log-determinant term. It employs an infeasible primal-dual predictor-corrector path-following method using the Nesterov-Todd search direction. The basic code is written in Matlab, but key subroutines in C are incorporated via Mex interface. It also uses functions in the software for li...

Postponing the choice of the barrier parameter in Mehrotra-type predictor-corrector algorithms

In [8] the authors considered a variant of Mehrotra’s predictor-corrector algorithm that has been widely used in several IPMs based optimization packages. By an example they showed that this variant might make very small steps in order to keep the iterate in a certain neighborhood of the central path, that itself implies the inefficiency of the algorithm. This observation motivated them to inco...

Mehrotra-type predictor-corrector algorithm revisited

Motivated by a numerical example which shows that a feasible version of Mehrotra’s original predictor-corrector algorithm might be inefficient in practice, Salahi et al., proposed a so-called safeguard based variant of the algorithm that enjoys polynomial iteration complexity while its practical efficiency is preserved. In this paper we analyze the same Mehrotra’s algorithm from a different per...
